Dear Manager,
In these times of rising costs, increasing competition, and falling sales prices in the garment industry, it is of particular importance that productivity is maximized at the highest degree of economic efficiency. 
Even ultramodernized plants by themselves offer no guarantee for continuing competitiveness, unless the necessary production costs are thoroughly anaylzed, evaluated and reduced to an absolute minimum. 
For this reason, we are convinced that you will be interested in a computer program that is already in use in over 700 clothing production plants in 32 countries all over the world. 
This program, known world over as G.S.D., allows you to analyze and plan every single operation in the sewing of a garment, whether it be a machine or a manual operation. It permits you to cost your productsts, with a high level of accuracy, prior to the start of the production process. 
Auxiliary modules facilitate the evaluation of the cutting room as well as production planning, ticket printing and operator training  Results from previous installations of this program in Germany, Austria and Switzerland clearly show that productivity was increased on average by 11%, in some cases, by as much as 24% at the factory level, and over 100% on individual operations.   
There exists a belief in the industry that production costs can be effectively reduced by building faster and faster sewing machines. That this is not true can be easily seen if one considers the outcome of such speed increases. The adjacent graph, shows the results of  sewing 5 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm and 30 cm long straight seam at different machine speeds. It is clear that increases in machine speeds above 5000 RPM have minute effects on the actual sewing times.  In addition, when one considers that only 20% - 30% of the time of an average operation is actual sewing machine time, while 70% - 80% is handling time, the small gains from increasing machine sewing times themselves are trivial compared with the expense of the Super-Sewing-Machines.
We offer you a tool that is able to deal with all parts of the production process, especially that part that involving manual operations. You will be able to analyze, change, compare and cost different variations of production methods in minutes, without the use of antiquated means such as stopwatches and performance ratings. 
G.S.D. is not just another Time Measurement system. Whereas Time Measurement systems use your timed production sequences for an operation, G.S.D. uses independent, tested, synthetic time standards and is open to any changes in method, machine or material you may wish to make. The best way to stay competitive in today's market is to improve production methods. 
G.S.D. was tested independently by academic and industrial institutions on three continents and was found accurate to ±5% in 95% of the cases tested. 

Let us make a simple calculation.  In a production facility employing 100 workers with an average cost of US$ 0.15 a minute, if you can save just 1.5 minutes (5%) in the production of a garment taking 30 minutes to produce, your savings amount to:

100 x 480 x 0.15 x 1.5
30 
= US$ 360.00 per day 
or 
US$ 8,640.00 per month.

Or you can reduce the production price of your product from US$ 4.50 to US$ 4.28. 
Or you can produce 5% more garments a day with the same labor force (1680 garments instead of 1600).
